Concord's Emily Palmisano Wins Art Award at Neuroscience Conference
EASTON, MA (12/07/2011)(readMedia)-- Concord native Emily Palmisano, a junior at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, recently won an art award for two pieces she submitted at the 21st annual Northeastern Under/Graduate Research Organization for Neuroscience (NEURON) Conference held at Quinnipiac University.
Palmisano won the award for Best Artwork using Traditional Media for her two submissions entitled "Perception" and "Dimension." The award was part of a new segment introduced this year at the conference titled "The Art of Science," where students could submit their two-dimensional artistic depictions of scientific objects and concepts.
The NEURON Conference provides an open forum for neuroscience undergraduate and graduate students to present and discuss their work with students and faculty with similar interests.
Since 1990, the organization has held conferences in Boston, New York City, and at Quinnipiac in Hamden, Connecticut.
