Connetquot Administrator Inducted as SAANYS President

ALBANY, NY (11/13/2019) (readMedia)-- SAANYS is pleased to announce that Stuart Pollak, principal of Sycamore Avenue Elementary School in the Connetquot Central School District, was inducted as president of the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS) at the SAANYS Annual Conference at the Sagamore Resort in Lake George on October 20. Pollak succeeds Dr. Regina K. Huffman, science chairperson of Elmont Memorial Jr./Sr. High School and district coordinator in the Sewanhaka Central High School District. Pollak is a long-standing member of SAANYS, having served as his local unit president, as a member of the board of directors, and as the SAANYS New York State representative to the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). Pollak will serve as SAANYS president for 2019-20 until next October.
Currently in his 16th year as principal of Sycamore Avenue Elementary School, Pollak has served for 28 years in public education. He previously taught for ten years as a 4th grade teacher, 5th grade teacher, a math/science/technology teacher, and as a 7th grade math teacher. He has also held administrative positions as the junior high school math chairperson and as an elementary assistant principal. Pollak is married with three children ages 15, 17, and 22.
SAANYS represents over 7,300 school administrators, supervisors, and coordinators. As a professional association, SAANYS is committed to providing direction, service, and support to the membership in their efforts to improve the quality of education and leadership in New York State schools. SAANYS is affiliated with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
