PADUCAH, KY (03/23/2018) A "bramily" is one of the best ways to describe Coopertheband (one word), the group that will play the next Backstage Pass in West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Clemens Fine Arts Center March 31 at 7:30 p.m.

Composed of five self-described massive music nerds, Coopertheband's "bramily" (a combination of band, family and friends) has minds to rhyme and ten hot feet with a unique, contemporary sound.

"Coopertheband hands over an edgy, impressive tune that's immediately distinct and prickly," said Huff Post's Randy Radic. Indie Ion Magazine's Jeff Popka added, "Coopertheband is poised to embark on a musical journey of success."

Centered in Jackson, Tenn., the band has found success nationally, featured on networks like HBO, ESPN and TruTV as well as the hit show "Without a Trace." The band is also hugely plugged into the local music scene and often finds itself on podcasts and regional television shows.

To date, Cooperthband has released three albums - Venture (2010), Kings EP (2012), and most recently, Kingdoms (2017).

"Coopertheband's Kingdoms is truly complete, top to bottom, this is one of the best new releases I have heard recently," said Popka. "The strength of this album and the band is in the completeness; the flow, the talent, the vibe." Among many of their favorites, the band will include songs from Kingdoms during their Backstage performance next week.

Backstage Pass presents talented artists in an intimate listening room environment, performing expressive sets to thoughtfully curated audiences. "Arrive early and enjoy the show. Sit down, settle in and just listen," said Todd Birdsong, Clemens Fine Arts Center interim director. "You're gonna love it."

Tickets for the show are $8 in advance, and $10 at the door. Students can receive a reduced rate of $5 with student ID. To purchase tickets and stay up to date on all Clemens Fine Arts Center events visit artsinfocus.org or call the box office at 270-534-3212.
