Copiague Funeral Director Beatrice Lewanduski Re-Elected NYSFDA President-Elect
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (08/25/2010)(readMedia)-- Beatrice Lewanduski, manager of the D'Andrea Brothers Funeral Home in Copiague, was elected president-elect of the New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYSFDA) at the organization's annual meeting which concluded today in Saratoga Springs, New York. A New York State licensed funeral director since 1977, Ms. Lewanduski will serve for the 2010-2011 term.
Ms. Lewanduski is a NYSFDA Board and Constitution and By-Laws Committee member. She is a past president of the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association, and Former Governor of NYSFDA Region 5. She is a member and Secretary of the Deer Park Lions Club, (formerly the Rockville Centre Lions); a Brownie Girl Scout Leader, and cantor at Our Lady of Grace Church in West Babylon.
Ms. Lewanduski is a graduate of Deer Park High School and SUNY Farmingdale.
Founded in 1889, NYSFDA's mission is to promote the highest standards of funeral service to the public and to enhance the environment in which its members operate. More than 900 member firms and 3500 licensed funeral directors who operate across the state belong to the New York State Funeral Directors Association. In addition to maintaining a Web site at www.nysfda.org, NYSFDA also publishes a quarterly newspaper column "Transitions" and brochures which educate and inform consumers about end-of-life issues.
