Corey Novotny of St. Charles receives All-Region recognition

AURORA, IL (12/10/2013)(readMedia)-- The Aurora University men soccer team's senior defender Corey Novotny (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East H.S.) was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with Novotny being named Second-Team All-Region.

In addition to his Second-Team All-Region honor, Novotny was selected by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference as a First-Team All-Conference defender.

This season, Novotny had two game-winning goals, while anchoring the AU defense that allowed 1.00 goals per game and had nine shutouts.

The Spartan men's soccer team concluded the 2013 season with an 11-5-4 overall record.
