Cougars Face No. 1 Schoolcraft in NJCAA Opening Round

BATAVIA, NY (03/11/2015)(readMedia)-- The Genesee Community College men's basketball team has been selected to match up with No. 1 Schoolcraft College in the first round of next week's 2014-15 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament, which will take place on Mar. 17-21 in Danville, IL. The selection committee announced its pairings and seeds on Tuesday.

Genesee (23-8) will face Schoolcraft (29-3) out of Region XII in Michigan. The Ocelots are also the top-ranked team in the NJCAA Division II National Poll. The opening-round matchup will take place on Tue., Mar. 17 at 7:30pm (ET) and will be the fifth of six scheduled games on Tuesday to open the five-day long tournament.

The Cougars will make their third NJCAA National Tournament appearance in school history and first since 2002-03. GCC is 1-4 in national tournament games.
