County legislator Barb Rice to speak at reception highlighting the Paul Smiths/Upper Saranac/St. Regis region

LAKE CLEAR, N.Y. (06/24/2016)(readMedia)-- The Paul Smiths/Upper Saranac/St. Regis N.Y., region will unveil multiple initiatives to foster economic growth at a free public reception on Tuesday, June 28, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Lake Clear Lodge.

Featured speaker Barb Rice, Franklin County legislator and newly-appointed Adirondack Park Agency commissioner, will discuss the region's vital economic role. Her remarks will be followed by key announcements from area businesses and institutions:

  • Plans for the future of the Paul Smith's College VIC.
  • Expansion of tours in the Adirondacks by Rail Explorers USA.
  • A regional collaboration facilitated by the Lake Clear Lodge to explore Adirondack heritage cuisine.
  • Increased partnerships among area institutions.

The reception will also provide an opportunity to explore the heritage, nature and wellness of the area through a variety of exhibits, activities and displays including family-friendly pontoon boat rides and free tastings of authentic Adirondack cuisine.

More than a dozen exhibitors will participate, including the Saranac Inn Golf Club, The Point, White Pine Camp, Paul Smith's College, Rail Explorers USA, the Lake Clear Lodge and historic organizations and museums.
