Crane Concert Band to Present Spring Concert on April 13
Performance Includes Works by Bernstein, Persichetti, Fauchet, Grainger & Barnes
POTSDAM, NY (03/31/2011)(readMedia)-- The talented student musicians from the Crane Concert Band will present a concert on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music.
Directed by Michael Schaff, professor of instrumental conducting and music education, the concert band will perform "Profanation," a movement from Leonard Bernstein's work "Jeremiah, Symphony #1," arranged by Frank Bencriscutto, as well as six movements from Vincent Persichetti's piece, "Divertimento for Band Op. 42."
The program will also include, "Nocturne" from Paul Fauchet's "Symphony in B Flat," six movements from Percy Grainger's "Lincolnshire Posy," John Barnes Chance's "Incantation and Dance," and Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story."
This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
