Crane Hosts Guest Artist Edwin Diefes, Tuba, in Concert on Sept. 11

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Hosts Guest Artist Series Concert with Edwin Diefes on Sept. 11 in Snell Theater

POTSDAM, NY (09/03/2014)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present a Guest Artist Series concert featuring Edwin Diefes, tuba, on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The performance will include works by Gregory Evans, Thomas Stevens, Gregory van der Struik, Michael Forsyth, Craig Ross, Marta Ptaszy?ska, David Kim Boyle and Cort Lippe. Diefes will be joined by Crane music faculty, including Dr. Kirk Severtson on piano and Dr. John Ellis on trumpet.

This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.

About the guest artist:

Edwin Diefes is principal tuba with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. He was principal tuba with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra from 1995 to 2010. He has taught at Syracuse University, Festival Internacional de Inverno de Campos do Jordao and the New York State Summer School of the Arts.
