Crane Jazz Band Presents Fall Concert at SUNY Potsdam Next Week

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Presents Crane Jazz Band Concert on Oct. 23

POTSDAM, NY (10/17/2014)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present a fall concert featuring the Crane Jazz Band on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The Crane Jazz Band will present a selection of works by Quincy Jones, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Michael Philip Mossman, Bob Mintzer, Diane Schuur, Jeff Coffin, Neal Hefti and Milt Jackson, as well as two compositions by director Bret Zvacek.

Directed by Zvacek, along with student director Cody Chamberlin, the Crane Jazz Band consists of 20 students on saxophone, trumpet, trombone and rhythm section.

This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
