Crane School of Music Honors Women Composers in Concert on March 15

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Hosts Concert for Women's History Month on March 15

POTSDAM, NY (03/06/2015)(readMedia)-- In honor of Women's History Month, SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present an upcoming concert featuring works by women composers from the 19th century to the present. The performance will be offered on Sunday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The concert will include vocal and instrumental works by Libby Larsen, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, Clara Schumann and Pauline Viardot, among others, as well as music by the contemporary Adirondack composer Hilary Tann. Two pieces by current Crane School of Music undergraduates will also be performed.

This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.

In addition to solo and small ensemble works, the program will also spotlight members of the SUNY Potsdam Campus Community Band, the sisters of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, and Crane's legendary Phoenix Club.
