Crane School of Music Opens New Academic Year with Faculty Gala

Professors Take Center Stage at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music for 2016 Fall Faculty Gala

POTSDAM, NY (08/23/2016)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will officially open the 2016-17 academic year with the annual Faculty Gala, on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall.

The performance will highlight members of Crane's illustrious faculty of scholars and artist teachers. The Crane School will welcome several new members of the faculty to the stage, including alto saxophonist Casey Grev, pianist Young-Ah Tak and violinists Liesl Schoenberger Doty and Paul Reynolds.

In addition, a number of returning faculty will also perform, including the Aria Reed Trio, baritone Jonathan Stinson, soprano Colleen Skull, clarinetist Julianne Kirk-Doyle and pianists Julie Miller, Kirk Severtson, Michael Sitton, Rosemarie Suniga and Eugenia Tsarov.

The concert will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Paul Bonneau, Johannes Brahms, Gaetano Donizetti, Paquito D'Rivera, Pablo de Sarasate, Paul Hindemeth, Wolfgang A. Mozart, Franz Liszt and Richard Wagner.

This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
