Crane School of Music Welcomes Violinist Gary Capozziello in Concert Saturday

POTSDAM, NY (02/18/2016)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music invites the public to enjoy a Guest Artist Recital by the award-winning violinist Gary Capozziello on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.
The performance will include works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Johann Sebastian Bach.
This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
About the performer:
Award-winning violinist Gary Capozziello enjoys a varied musical life as both highly versatile performer and passionate teacher. A frequent soloist with orchestra, his concerto appearances have included concerts with the Connecticut Valley Chamber orchestra, the Hartt Symphony, the American Chamber Orchestra and the Bergen County Youth Orchestra. In addition to concerto competitions, he has won a range of awards, including the Jerry Malafronte Scholarship for Musical Excellence and the Nogan/Wright Music Memorial Award. Also a winner of the String Quartet Competition at the Meadowmount School of Music, Capozziello has been featured as chamber performer at festivals such as the Kneisel Hall Chamber Festival, the NYU String Quartet Program and the Amalfi Music Festival in Italy, and recently performed in concert with the Lions Gate Trio. He is currently immersed in presenting piano trio concerts as a member of the full-scholarship 20/20 chamber program at Hartt, where he is a doctoral student studying with Katie Lansdale. Capozziello also has rich orchestral experience, having played in the Western Piedmont, New Haven, Hartford and Eastern Connecticut symphonies, as well as Orchestra New England. He has frequently served as concertmaster for the Hartford Opera Theater and the Hartt Symphony Orchestra.
