Crane Symphony Orchestra Presents Fall Concert Featuring 'Organ Symphony'

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Hosts First Crane Symphony Orchestra Concert of the Semester on Oct. 8

POTSDAM, NY (10/02/2015)(readMedia)-- The Crane Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert of the fall semester, on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music.

The concert will open with "An Outdoor Overture" by Aaron Copland, followed by "Fontane di Roma (Fountains of Rome)" by Ottorino Resphigi. The performance will conclude with Camille Saint-Saƫns' Symphony No. 3, popularly known as the "Organ Symphony."

This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.

About the performers:

The Crane Symphony Orchestra is a premier, 90-member performing ensemble at The Crane School of Music. The ensemble performs great orchestral masterworks from the standard and contemporary orchestral literature. The Crane Symphony Orchestra has traveled to perform at Lincoln Center, and in tours across New York State, in addition to working with major guest conductors from around the world each year.
