Culhane of Washingtonville Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of the U.S. Army

CHESTER, PA (05/21/2012)(readMedia)-- Katlyn R. Culhane of Washingtonville, N.Y., was commissioned as a second lieutenant of the U.S. Army on Thursday, May 10 through the ROTC program at Widener University. She graduated from Widener on May 12 with a dual degree in political science and criminal justice.

During her senior year at Widener, Culhane served as the battalion logistics and intelligence officer. She is a graduate of the Leader's Development and Assessment Course.

Culhane will enter active duty to attend the Military Intelligence Officer Leader Course at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., with a follow on assignment at Fort Hood, Texas.

Culhane's parents, Robert and Lisa Culhane, participated in the commissioning ceremony by pinning on their daughter's rank.
