Cumming Baker on a "Roll" in State Fair Baking Contest
DES MOINES, IA (08/29/2023) (readMedia)-- Jill Gregoire of Cumming won First Place Overall and a $125 gift card in the Bob's Red Mill Yeast Rolls contest judged Thursday, August 17, at the 2023 Iowa State Fair.
Marianne Carlson of Jefferson earned Second Place Overall and a $75 gift card. Kay Smith of Des Moines claimed Third Place Overall and a $50 gift card.
Luann Sutter of Ankeny won the Sweepstakes Award.
Entries were judged on flavor, texture and appearance.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 138 divisions, 695 classes and over 6,800 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging was held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
