Curry College Student Marita MacKinnon Takes Center Stage

MILTON , MA (03/01/2010)(readMedia)-- Curry College Theatre is pleased to announce that Quincy resident, Marita MacKinnon, daughter of Mary and George MacKinnon, will be playing the role of Anya in Be Careful What You Wish For in the fourth annual New Plays Festival at Curry College.

Ms. MacKinnon, a 2007 graduate of Quincy High School, is now a junior at the college, majoring in Communication major with a Dance minor. Since joining the Curry Theatre program, Marita has performed on stage in To See the Stars, and The Third Annual New Plays Festival, Justice Man. Marita has severed Curry Theatre as the House Manger and Assistant Box Office Manager.

The New Plays Festival, showcasing original student 5-10 minute one act plays, will run Saturday, March 6 through Monday, March 8 at 7:30 pm with an extra 4:00 pm matinee on Sunday, in the Oscar B. and Frances A. Keith Auditorium at the Academic and Performance Center on the Milton Campus, 1071 Blue Hill Avenue, Milton, MA. Tickets are $5 and are available for purchase at the door.

Curry College is a 131-year old, private, four-year, liberal arts institution located on 135 acres in Milton, MA. Curry extends its educational programs to a continuing education branch campus in Plymouth. Curry offers 20 undergraduate degrees as well as graduate degrees in business, education, criminal justice and nursing, with a combined enrollment of approximately 4,100 students.
