DA Candidate Diana Florence Pledges Not To Challenge Petitions

NEW YORK, NY (03/15/2021) (readMedia)-- Manhattan District Attorney candidate Diana Florence announced that she will not challenge designating petitions. Each candidate must gather a minimum of 1,200 signatures to secure a spot on the ballot.

"Our volunteers have spent weeks collecting signatures during a life-threatening pandemic, and rather than clog up the courts with anti-democratic challenges over ink color, I'm focused on competing on the playing field of ideas. I respect every candidate's right to run and refuse to waste anyone's time- especially the voters'- with cheap politicians' tricks. The latest news that Liz Crotty has contracted COVID while petitioning, only reinforces the need to set aside institutional barriers to office. I urge the rest of the field to join me in pledging not to challenge petition signatures."
