Dakota Roberts of Franklin Named Freshman of the Year by Mathematics Honor Society

EVANSVILLE, IN (03/27/2012)(readMedia)-- Dakota Roberts, a University of Evansville student from Franklin, has been named Freshman of the Year by UE's chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon (KME), a national mathematics honor society.

Roberts, a graduate of Franklin Community High School who is majoring in Mathematics, was honored at KME's annual initiation and banquet on March 22. He was chosen to receive the Freshman of the Year award out of all freshmen taking mathematics courses at UE.

Kappa Mu Epsilon is a national mathematics honor society founded in 1931 to promote the interest of mathematics among undergraduate students. To be inducted into UE's chapter, students must rank in the top 35 percent of their class, earn at least a B in all mathematics courses, and maintain an overall grade point average of 3.45 or higher.
