Danielle Caggiano of Scotia Inducted as a Student Member of The Linguistic Society of America

TROY, NY (01/26/2012)(readMedia)-- Danielle Caggiano of Scotia, a Liberal Arts and Sciences student at Hudson Valley Community College, was recently inducted as a student member of the Linguistic Society of America.

Caggiano, also recently named to the college's President's List, is a 3.83 student in her final semester at the Troy, NY college.

The Linguistic Society of America is the major professional society in the United States that is exclusively dedicated to the advancement of the scientific study of language. The society plays a critical role in supporting and disseminating linguistic scholarship, as well as facilitating the application of current research to scientific, educational, and social issues concerning language.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
