Dante Sherman named group leader for Spring Break trip to New Orleans

Cleveland native one of 24 Marietta students participating in alternative break

MARIETTA, OH (02/09/2011)(readMedia)-- Eight hours a day for five consecutive days, Dante Sherman '11 (Cleveland, Ohio) will spend his Spring Break with two dozen or so friends. However, there's a twist.

Sherman and the other 23 Marietta College students will be in New Orleans working with a nonprofit called "Relief Spark." Landrie expects the experience to benefit her twofold.

Sherman was also chosen as one of four group leaders, along with Cody Clemens '13 (Malta, Ohio), Krystyna Foley '11 (North Olmsted, Ohio) and Taylor Landrie '13 (Buckhannon, W.Va.).

Marietta College's Spring Break is March 5-13.

Located in Marietta, Ohio, at the confluence of the Muskingum and Ohio rivers, Marietta College is a four-year liberal arts college. Tracing its roots to the Muskingum Academy begun in 1797, the College was officially chartered in 1835. Today Marietta College serves a body of 1,400 full-time students.
