Universe comes to Staunton

STAUNTON, VA (05/23/2012)(readMedia)-- Curious about the universe? Join Staunton Parks and Recreation for an astronomy day brought to you by the Dark Skies Bright Kids Astronomy program from UVa. Fun hands on activities, demonstrations of invisible light, planetarium shows and plenty of opportunities to ask real astronomers your questions about the cosmos. The goal of this volunteer-run program is to enhance science education for elementary school students. They seek to foster the natural curiosity of children by helping them explore the Universe in a social setting with fun, hands-on activities.

The event is free, but a $5 donation per child is suggested towards the DSBK program. Parents are required to stay with their children.

To be held on Saturday from 2pm-5pm, May 26 @ GHP Gym

Reservation required ASAP by calling (540) 332-3945
