CHESTER, PA (05/20/2013)(readMedia)-- Edwin Dauber of Chesapeake City, Md., graduated from Widener University on Saturday, May 18 at the top of his class. After finishing his college career with a 4.0 grade point average, he earned the title of valedictorian of the Class of 2013. He shares this honor with three additional members of his class who also earned a 4.0.

Dauber is the son of Edwin George Dauber Sr. and the late Elva Lorinda Dauber of Chesapeake City. He is an alumnus of Bohemia Manor High School, where he also earned the title of valedictorian.

Dauber graduates Widener with a bachelor's degree in computer science. Following graduation, he will begin working toward his doctorate in computer science at Drexel University.

At Widener, Dauber was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Alpha Pi honor societies. He was also a member of the Computer Science Club. Dauber represented Widener's computer science program for two years as a presenter at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. This past year, he presented his senior research project, which involved programming a computer game.

Dauber earned a full-tuition scholarship to attend Widener. Prior to commencement, he also received two academic awards: the Computer Science Award for demonstrating excellence in the computer science field, and the Science Award for having the highest academic average of any student in the science division. In addition, Dauber received a certificate of honors in general education for completing the Honors Program at Widener.
