Daughter of St. Louis residents receives scholarship to attend Washington University in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS, MO (06/29/2010)(readMedia)-- Ashley D. Gray, daughter of Sheri Speed-Gray of St. Louis, Mo. (63147) and Keith Gray of Clayton, Mo. (63105), recently was named an Enterprise Rent-A-Car Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis. Gray, a 2010 graduate of Crossroads College Preparatory School in St. Louis, Mo., will enter the university's College of Arts & Sciences as a freshman when the fall semester begins Aug. 31.
Gray served as a student ambassador for her high school. She was also a member of her school's volleyball team and the editor of her school's newspaper.
Gray's scholarship was made possible by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which provided $25 million "to help Washington University develop the best and brightest minds from all segments of our society."
Scholars are selected on the basis of academic merit, leadership skills and a commitment to community service. The Enterprise Rent-A-Car Endowed Scholarship Fund makes it possible for more than 80 exceptionally talented students from across America to attend Washington University each year.
The Enterprise Rent-A-Car scholars are recognized at a dinner in their honor during the school year.
