Dave Wilson Honored at Hampden-Sydney College Graduation

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/16/2012)(readMedia)-- On May 13, at commencement ceremonies marking the end of the 236th academic year at Hampden-Sydney College, David G. Wilson, Jr., H-SC Class of 1963, of Richmond received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Medallion. This Award, presented annually by the New York Southern Society in honor of its first president, Algernon Sydney Sullivan, is given to a friend of the College who has brought high credit to Hampden-Sydney and to himself by service to the College and his home community. The award was presented by Hampden-Sydney College President Dr. Christopher B. Howard.
Wilson is highly respected, leads by example, has extraordinary organizational skills, and is committed to serving others. Wilson's dedication to Hampden-Sydney athletics is exceptional. He spearheaded the basketball capital improvement projects, created a model for athletic fundraising programs, and has been the President of the Roundball Club for the past seven years.
A former member of the Board of Trustees of the College, he served with distinction during his term and was recently elected to the Board beginning this summer.
Wilson and his wife Suzanne make their home in Richmond.
