David Foulke Receives Final Convocation Award at Hampden-Sydney College

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/10/2013)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 25, Hampden-Sydney College freshman David Linford Foulke, Jr. received the Minter Award, presented by Dr. R. David Salvage, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts. The Minter Award was established in 2001 in honor of Owen Randolph Minter '53 by his classmates and friends. It is presented to a student who is a serious singer and has developed the skills for a lifetime of appreciation of vocal music.

A Venable Scholar, David is a member of the Hampden-Sydney Men's Chorus, the Acousticals (a capella group), the Jongleurs (theatre arts), the Outsiders Club, and the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. David graduated from Heritage High School and is the son of Dave & Cindy Foulke of Mountain View, CA, previously of Leesburg, VA.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
