David Knight Scholarship awarded to Citadel cadet-athlete

Citadel track and field cadet-athlete Madyson Riegel was named the recipient of the Southern Conference's David Knight Scholarship. Riegel has competed for both the Bulldogs' women's soccer and track and field teams, earning SoCon All-Freshman honors on both teams before becoming a two-time SoCon champion in the javelin, setting and then breaking the school record in the event each year of her career so far.

Recipients of the David Knight Scholarship are nominated by their schools and selected by the Southern Conference Graduate Scholar Committee. The scholarships, worth $2,000 each, are awarded to student-athletes about to receive their undergraduate degrees who intend to pursue advanced degrees in graduate or professional school.
