David Lopez Selected Preseason Honorable Mention All-American
PLEASANTVILLE, NY (08/19/2011)(readMedia)-- Senior defensive back David Lopez (Ozone Park, NY/Christ the King) has been selected as a Preseason Honorable Mention All-American by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) and the D2vsNAIA Senior Bowl selection committee.
Lopez enters the 2011 season as one of the top defensive backs in the Northeast-10 Conference following an outstanding 2010 campaign. He led the Setters with 80 tackles last season along with a team-high five pass defenses. Lopez also led the team with two interceptions and two forced fumbles. In the Northeast-10 Conference, Lopez ranked fifth in tackles and was tied for fourth in forced fumbles.
The Setters kick off the 2011 season on September 1 as they will travel to East Stroudsburg University for a 6:05 start. Pace returns home the following week where they will host Stonehill College on September 10 for a 1 pm kickoff.
