Davis' Jake Apple named NACC Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, IL (10/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Aurora University sophomore running back Jake Apple (Davis, Ill./Dakota H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

Apple rushed for 180 yards on 25 carries in the Spartans' close 52-49 loss to Millikin University on Saturday. He scored four rushing touchdowns in the game. On the year he has 49 carries for 270 yards and five touchdowns.

Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, October 5 when they host Maranatha Baptist Bible College on AU's Homecoming. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
