Day earns PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year; Three Named to 2025 All-Conference Teams

The Kutztown University women's soccer team had three All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division honorees, headlined by junior midfielder Maura Day (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Abington) earning the Eastern Division Defensive Player of the Year recognition.

Junior forward Corinne Morgan (Port Republic, N.J./Cedar Creek) joined Day on the All-PSAC East First Team, while senior forward Caroline McDonald (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) earned her fourth All-Conference recognition while being the lone Golden Bear representative on the Second Team.

Day was one of the most efficient players on both sides of the field, helping anchor one of the best defenses in the PSAC while contributing a team-high seven assists to go along with a pair of goals on the offensive end. She was one of four Golden Bears to start all 16 games on the season, playing a large role in the team's successful season that continues later tonight in the PSAC Championships.

Many of Day's assists found Morgan, a second-year Golden Bear, on the other end. The striker led the team in both points (20) and goals (8), while her total shots (76) and shots on goal (36) placed third in the conference. The Port Republic, N.J., native notched the team's only two goals in the 2-0 win over East Stroudsburg in late September, while she had three straight games contributing a goal and an assist - all in Kutztown victories.

McDonald was another key cog in Kutztown's frontline success, contributing five goals and five assists for a total of 15 points, all second-best on the team. She opened the season with a hat trick in KU's 4-1 win at Concord, and had two games of three points against Lock Haven (Sept. 13) and East Stroudsburg (Oct. 25). The tandem of McDonald and Morgan contributed 13 of the team's 30 goals, serving as one of the best attacking tandems in the conference.
