Deborah Narinkevicuis Overdeput recipient of the Alumni Meritorious Service Award

DURHAM, NH (10/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Deborah Narinkevicuis Overdeput of Salem will be honored Saturday, Nov 3, 2012, during the University of New Hampshire Alumni Association's annual Alumni Achievement Awards Ceremony recognizing eight outstanding alumni who have made notable contributions to the UNH community, the state or the nation.

A member of the Class of 1982, Overdeput is the recipient of the Alumni Meritorious Service Award. As an executive at Sapient Global Markets, Overdput has developed marketing strategies, built brand visibility, and leveraged sales partnerships-and she applies her professional expertise directly to her volunteer work at UNH. In her role as communications chair for the Boston Alumni Chapter and a member of its Executive Forum steering committee, she is committed to helping fellow alumni and students cultivate their connections with one another. As a volunteer for the UNH Advising and Career Center, Overdeput helps with job-search advice and networking opportunities, constantly reaching out to assist and support her fellow alums.

Along with Overdeput, the 2012 recipients of the Alumni Meritorious Service Award include Frederick "Fritz" Armstrong III of South Wellfleet, Mass.; Frank E. "Ted" Wheatley '76 of Winchester, Mass.; and Cheryl Kuebler Dickson '63 of Manchester. The Profile of Service Award recipients are Valerie "Val" Wilcox England '54 of Durham, and Dorothy "Dot" Taylor Sheehan '71 of Hampton. The Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement goes to Margaret-Alice "M.A." Haggart Lucas '64 of Bethesda, Md. The Young Alumna Achievement Award goes to Katharina "Katy" Fader Lilly '00 of Durham.

The awards will be presented by Alumni Association student scholarship recipients. "Bringing student and alumni leaders together is a special way to commemorate this occasion," says Steve Donovan, associate vice president of advancement and executive director of the UNH Alumni Association.
