PAUL SMITHS, NY (04/17/2013)(readMedia)-- Dellyn Antione, a work-study student at Paul Smith's College, has been named Outstanding Student Employee by the Northern New York Library Network.

Antione, from Brooklyn, N.Y., is a junior majoring in business management and entrepreneurial studies. He has worked six semesters at the college's Joan Weill Adirondack Library.

The Northern New York Library Network is a group of more than 60 libraries in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties of New York State. Members include college and university, museum and municipal libraries.

"Dellyn's ability to interact with everybody in a helpful, professional manner sets him apart," said Stacie Hurwitch, who supervises the library's 10 student workers. "He is a self-motivator and always looking for new ways to help the library and expand his skill set. He is truly an asset to our department."

Hurwitch said that the library's student workers are the face of the library, often serving as the first person to help patrons. "Our work-study students are essential to our daily operations, and we're fortunate to have them," Hurwitch said.
