Democrats’ Plan Is Wrong for America

ALBANY, NY (01/04/2008)(readMedia)-- The Iowa caucuses clearly revealed the Democrats’ fight over who can spend more of the public’s money and make us less secure in a dangerous world. This stands in stark contrast with the Republican vision that focuses on cutting taxes, helping businesses create jobs and protecting our families.

The caucus-goers in Iowa clearly saw the real Senator Clinton that New York has been enduring for the past seven years and voted accordingly. After moving into New York solely to use our state as a stepping-stone to the White House, Senator Clinton has been a disappointment in office— failing to deliver on her promises and now spending the bulk of her time campaigning rather than doing the job she was elected to do.

On the campaign trail, Americans are seeing the disappointing truths about Senator Clinton, Senator Obama, Senator Edwards and the other Democrats whose prime motivation is bigger government and higher taxes.

At the state level, now that that the Iowa caucuses are completed, Lieutenant Governor David Paterson will hopefully return to the critical issues facing the New Yorkers he was elected to serve-- issues like tax relief, job creation and commonsense criminal justice measures-- rather than spending his time traveling out of state to involve himself in the Presidential campaign.
