SPRINGFIELD, MA (07/02/2013)(readMedia)-- Derek M. Beaulieu of Hudson, N.H., received the Chemistry Book Prize and Biology Achievement Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England University. The Chemistry Book Prize is awarded to the graduating senior with outstanding achievement in Chemistry while the Biology Achievement Award is given to the graduating senior who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, laboratory skills, and personal qualities in pursuit of scientific knowledge.
Beaulieu graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. He is a member of the Mortar Board, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. While at Western New England University, he served as a teaching assistant. In the fall, Beaulieu will attend Tufts medical school.
