ITHACA, NY (11/17/2011)(readMedia)-- Ithaca College student Diana Cui, daughter of Astoria resident Pei Xi Cui, was recently honored with the 2011–12 Advertising Women of New York Scholarship Award. Given annually by the AWNY, the award recognizes undergraduates for their academic achievement and interest in the advertising industry. Cui is a senior Integrated Marketing Communications major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications.
"The scholarship means a lot to me because it reaffirms my choice in choosing advertising as my field of interest," Cui said. "I am doing what I love to do, and as an independent woman, that makes me especially proud. I am honored to be recognized for my dedication and experience in advertising."
Founded in 1912 as the first women's association in the communications industry, AWNY now numbers some 1,500 professionals representing the fields of advertising, marketing, media, promotion and public relations.
