MADISON HEIGHTS MI (08/12/2014)(readMedia)-- Thomas M. Farrington, senior vice president and chief information officer at Perrigo, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of the Midland States. Based in Columbus OH, ALAMS provides programs and services to the residents of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Farrington, a resident of Douglas MI, has been with Perrigo, a leading global provider of healthcare products, since October of 2006.

A graduate of DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Farrington has held various global senior level positions in Information Technology, Marketing, Human Resources and Finance. He was formerly the Chief Information Officer for the F. Dohmen Co.; division president for JASCORP LLC; and held various senior positions at Dell Inc. He began his career with BP/Amoco Corp.

He is currently serving as vice chair of the Saugatuck Council for the Arts and as a board member for the Perrigo Foundation.

The mission of the American Lung Association is to save lives through the prevention of lung disease and lung health. Originally founded in the early 1900's to fight tuberculosis, the association now is actively involved with a variety of lung health issues working through research, advocacy and education initiatives.
