Dover native Kim Herring breaks Lake Forest College's Scoring Record

The senior women's hockey player also eclipsed the 100-point mark.

LAKE FOREST, IL (12/07/2011)(readMedia)-- Senior forward Kim Herring (Dover, N.H./Groton School) reached 100 career points with a goal and an assist as the Lake Forest women's hockey team defeated Finlandia 7-1 on Saturday night at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

Herring, who broke the school's scoring mark in a 5-1 win against Finlandia on Friday night, needed just two points to hit 100. She had an assist on Lake Forest's first goal of the game at 5:01 of the first period. The Foresters scored three goals in the third period at 5:26, 10:26 and 11:14. Herring, who scored the first goal of the period, hit 100 career points with the goal.

On Friday night, Herring became the school's all-time scoring leader as the Lake Forest women's hockey team defeated Finlandia 5-1. Herring finished with a goal and an assist in the game.

Herring tied the program record with Lake Forest's first goal of the game on a rebound in front of the net at 8:00 of the first period. She then broke the record at 18:30 as Lake Forest went up 2-0 on a goal from Laura Reckdenwald and assisted by Herring and Emily Wybo. Herring currently has 98 career points.

Herring has 11 goals and six assists for 17 points in all 14 games for the Foresters (9-4-1, 8-2-0 NCHA) this season. 

Herring plays for former University of New Hampshire All-American and the school's scoring leader Carisa Zaban. She wears jersey number 18, the same number Zaban wore while at UNH.
