Dr. Brent Thomas is keynote speaker at alma mater's commencement
EMPORIA, KAN. (05/09/2012)(readMedia)-- An Emporia State University department chair will deliver the keynote address at his alma mater on Saturday morning, May 12, 2012.
Dr. R. Brent Thomas is a professor and chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at Emporia State. A native of Denning, Ark., Thomas earned his bachelor's degree in 1991 from University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.; his master's degree from Missouri State University and his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University.
He taught at University of South Carolina Upstate from 1999 to 2006, when he joined the faculty at Emporia State.
On Saturday, Thomas will speak at the University of the Ozarks commencement, which plans to confer degrees on 102 graduating seniors.
