Dr. David Tataw Named Chair of Health Care Management Program at College of Saint Elizabeth

Lake Hopatcong Resident Brings 20 Years Experience to New Position

MORRISTOWN, NJ (02/12/2013)(readMedia)-- Dr. David Tataw of Lake Hopatcong, N.J., has been named associate professor and chair of the health care management program at College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, N.J. Dr. Tataw comes to this position with more than 20 years of experience in health care coordination and administration, as well as in academia, having served as a professor in numerous business schools and public health and health management programs.

"I am thrilled to become part of a College that is at the forefront of preparing managers for the health care industry," said Dr. Tataw. "My goal is to build on CSE's strengths as a learning-centered, evidence-based and industry focused program. We will evaluate our curriculum to ensure that it reflects emerging configurations in the industry, while meeting our students' needs and requirements."

Dr. Tataw holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and Master of Public Administration from University of Southern California; a Master of Arts in Political Science from California State University, and a Master's in Management Information Systems from West Coast University, all in Los Angeles, Calif. He is also founder and board president of the Institute for Health Policy and Systems Effectiveness based in Chino Hills, Calif., and a volunteer professor at Charles R. Drew College of Medicine in Los Angeles.

The Health Care Management Program at CSE, which started in the 1998/1999 academic year, features an integrated curriculum in the study of health care management and leadership. It is designed for health care administrators, managers, nurses, and other health care providers, or any health related professionals who wish to increase their knowledge and expertise in the specific application of health care management and leadership. Applicants who have not previously studied health care management are welcome.

Sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, N.J., the College of Saint Elizabeth enrolls more than 2,100 full- and part-time students in more than 25 undergraduate, 10 graduate and two doctoral degree programs; an Ed.D.in educational leadership and a Psy.D. in counseling psychology.
