Dr. Mayberry-Stewart Appointed To Advisory Council Of the Center For CIO Leadership
ALBANY, NY (12/19/2008)(readMedia)-- The Office of the New York State Chief Information Officer/Office For Technology (CIO/OFT) today announced that Dr. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart, Chief Information Officer and the Director of the Office For Technology was appointed as a member of the Advisory Council of Center for CIO Leadership.
The Center for CIO Leadership provides CIOs from around the world access to a global community of academic and practitioner experts, peer CIOs and business leaders with a common goal of advancing the CIO profession and providing professional development. The Center for CIO Leadership serves as a global community for CIOs through which they can collaborate and learn in order to uncover opportunities where information technology (IT) will drive business value. In addition to creating unique research aimed at the concerns of today's CIOs, the Center also provides new leadership development and other educational programs.
The Center for CIO Leadership is governed by an Advisory Council which is comprised of leading CIOs from a broad range of industries and professors from some of the world's most prestigious universities. The function of the Advisory Council is to provide strategic advice and counsel to Center leadership and its partners, assure the Center's research, education and content are directly relevant to the challenges facing CIOs and contribute directly to the Center's research, education, outreach, and community-building activities.

Dr. Mayberry-Stewart has considerable board and governance experience with more than a dozen organizations. In addition to the Center for CIO Leadership Advisory Council, Dr. Mayberry-Stewart serves as the Advisory Board Chair for the Government Technology Conference East, the Chair of the New York State Broadband Council and is a member of the Board of Directors of Harriman Research Technology Development Corporation and the Center for Computational Nanoscale Institute, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
