Dr. Sara Imhof to speak at KHIPP event at Campbellsville University

Dr. Sara L. Imhoff will speak at Campbellsville University Oct. 6.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (09/30/2015)(readMedia)-- Dr. Sara L. Imhof, director of education and Grassroots Advocacy, will be the featured speaker at the next Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP) event at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6 in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

Everyone is welcome to attend the free event.

Imhof is also a health policy analyst with non-partisan Concord Coalition, which is a grassroots organization dedicated to educating the public about long-term federal budget issues and their consequences for the future.

The Concord Coalition was founded in 1992 by two former United States Senators, the late Warren Rudman (R-NH) and the late Paul Tsongas (D-MA) and former Secretary of Commerce Peter G. Peterson.

Prior to joining the Concord Coalition in 2008, Imhof served as a senior policy analyst for the Government Accountability Office's (GAO) health care team, focusing on Medicare quality and long-term care health policy issues.

Imhof received a Ph.D. in health management and policy from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa. She has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing, and Masters of the Arts in Health Promotion.

Throughout her career, Imhof's research has focused generally on aging health issues – including Medicare and Medicaid policies – specifically on end-of-life care issues, including hospice and palliative care and related policies.

She has several publications in peer-review journals, including the Journal of Health Politics, Policy & Law, The Gerontologist and the Journal of Healthcare Management.
