Duhow Commits to GCC Women's Soccer Program

BATAVIA, NY (02/05/2016)(readMedia)-- The Genesee Community College women's soccer program continued to add to its 2016 recruiting class with the recent signing of Allison Duhow. Duhow signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cougars beginning this fall.

A Newfane native, Duhow played center midfield and forward for Newfane Senior High School under head coach Chelsea Buzyniski. She was a co-captain for the Lady Panthers last fall and was named second team All-Niagara-Orleans League. She was also a member of the track and field team.

Duhow plans to study Special Education at GCC and hopes to become a teacher.

Genesee is coming off of an 11-6 record in 2015 which included a trip to the NJCAA Region III semifinals.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College. Participation in collegiate athletics should be an extension of the total educational experience for the student athlete. The inherent philosophy emphasizes the athletic setting as a classroom used to teach character, commitment, work ethic, respect for differences, and the importance of sacrifice, teamwork, and cooperation.
