SCHENECTADY, NY (08/19/2009)(readMedia)-- Fifty-year-old Brenda J. Robinson of Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County, won the jackpot prize on the $500 A Week For Life instant game.

Robinson works for the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. "I was out running some errands when I decided to buy a $500 A Week For Life instant ticket," she said. "I couldn't believe I won," she continued. Robinson plans to buy her parents a new mobile home and invest the rest of her prize.

Robinson purchased her winning ticket at the A & P on Rt. 44 & North Avenue in Pleasant Valley. The $500 A Week For Life is a $1 instant game that offers players nine chances to win. The prize pays a guaranteed maximum amount of $500,000. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1:5.09. Currently, there are three $500 A Week For Life top prizes, and 232 $500 second prizes remaining.

Robinson will receive 19 annual payments of $26,000 before applicable state and federal taxes and a 20th payment of $6,000. Payments will continue beyond 20 years as long as Robinson is alive.
