El Mirage native Bryce Jones having a great season for Lake Forest College Football

LAKE FOREST, IL (09/26/2012)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College football player Bryce Jones (El Mirage, Ariz./Dysart) was named to D3football.com's National Team of the Week earlier this month after helping lead the Foresters to a 20-16 victory over visiting Lawrence University on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012.

Jones, a junior outside linebacker, recorded eight tackles in the contest. Among his stops were 4.0 tackles for loss (three solo, two assists) and a pair of sacks.

The Vikings' first drive of the game reached Lake Forest territory but a third-down sack by Jones forced the visitors to punt. He also stopped Lawrence's second drive by forcing a fumble that was recovered by the Foresters at their own 19. With eight seconds remaining in the first half and the Vikings at the Lake Forest 10, Jones recorded his second sack of the day to close out the period and preserve the Foresters' 14-3 lead.

The Lake Forest defense allowed just 20 rushing yards and recorded eight sacks and 15 tackles for loss in the contest.

Jones was also named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week and the Lake Forest College Athlete of the Week for his accomplishments.
