ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (02/09/2012)(readMedia)-- Elizabethtown College Theatre presents three comic shorts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and Sunday, Feb. 26, in the College's Tempest Theatre. The sketches by William Borden, Elaine May and Shel Silverstein are directed by Elizabethtown College senior Laura Robbins.
In Silverstein's ''The Best Daddy'' the audience watches as a father torments his daughter on her 13th birthday by giving her bizarre gifts -- a dead pony is only the beginning. This dark comedy has underlying themes of abuse.
A pair of losers meets life's challenges in their own crazy manner in Bordon's "Jumping." The play follows along as Jerry, who's trying to commit suicide, finds himself on a bridge where he meets neurotic Denise, who has the perfect cure for his problems.
"The Way of All Fish," written by May, centers on an evening shared between a successful business woman and her taciturn secretary. The play takes a surprising turn, and deadly secrets are revealed.
Student performers are seniors Jaclyn Light and Danie Fishman. First-year student Taylor Luckenbill is stage manager.
Tickets, $4, are available by calling 717-361-1170 or emailing boxoffice@etown.edu.
