Elizabethtown College first in nation to offer Interfaith Leadership Studies major

Program backed by Interfaith Youth Core Founder Eboo Patel

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (03/11/2015)(readMedia)-- Eboo Patel, a member of President Barack Obama's inaugural Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships and E-town's 2013 Commencement speaker, envisioned a new academic discipline to help create better diplomats, doctors, lawyers, politicians, peacekeepers, international business people, religious leaders and educators. His call for the development of this new academic field of study was outlined in his Coca-Cola World Fund Lecture given Jan. 26, 2013, at Yale University.

Elizabethtown answered that call with the Interfaith Leadership Studies (ILS) major, beginning fall 2015. This is the very first Interfaith Leadership Studies major in the nation.
