I'm brushing my teeth! and Other Social Media Myths: A Presentation" on Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Nicarry 201 and again on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in Brinser Lecture Hall in Steinman Center.
If you think social media is still just a place to post what you had for breakfast, you are missing an opportunity to take advantage of the world's largest conversation. Faculty and staff members, students and the general public, are invited to attend with Donna Talarico, of the College's Office of Marketing and Communications. Learn how to use Facebook and Twitter for yourself, for your group or both. "One of my goals for this presentation is to transform the mindset of folks who may be tentative about using social media; you know, make them more comfortable," says Talarico. She will explore other social media outlets such as LinkedIn, Foursquare, Instagram and Pinterest and debunk myths and give examples of what to do – and what not to do.
