Elmira College Cheerleading Garners 10th Straight Gold-Paid Bid to NCA College Nationals

ELMIRA, NY (08/15/2018) The Elmira College cheerleading team punched its ticket the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals, as the Soaring Eagles earned their 10th straight Gold-Paid Bid at the annual NCA College Camp hosted by Boston University.

The Purple and Gold will make the trek to Daytona Beach, Florida, from April 3-7 for the 2019 NCA College National Championships. The Soaring Eagles take on the always-competitive field in their search for their third National Championship in program history after finishing fourth in 2018.

EC was one of six programs to earn a Gold-Paid Bid to nationals, joining Bridgewater State University, Montclair State University, the University of New Hampshire, College of the Holy Cross and the University of Connecticut.

In addition to the team's stellar performance, Elmira saw four student-athletes earn NCA All-American recognition. Ainsley Collins '19, Cydney Gamido '21, Natalie Straut '20 and Tori Dunham '21 were all honored by the NCA for their performances at the Boston Camp.
