Elmira College Women's Lacrosse Named as IWLCA Academic Honor Squad

ELMIRA, NY (07/31/2018) The Elmira College women's lacrosse program was named as a Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad for the sixth consecutive season, as announced by the organization on Monday afternoon.

Elmira was one of 339 Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions to earn the honor. In order to qualify for the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Soaring Eagles also had six student-athletes recognized by the IWLCA for their performance in the classroom. Kelcey Crawford '18, Rachel Grampp '18, Sarah Hughson '18, Macy Huntley '19, Kyra McDonald '18 and Kiersta Pino '18 were all named to the Division III Academic Honor Roll. Crawford, Hughson and Pino were all recognized for the second consecutive season. This marks the fourth straight year the Soaring Eagles have had six student-athletes named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

The IWLCA honored 639 student-athletes from 189 different institutions on the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll. In order to eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
