Emily Andre Awarded Western New England University Dean's Prize

SPRINGFIELD, MA (09/06/2011)(readMedia)-- Emily Andre of Sherman, CT, received third prize in the Western New England University 5th Annual Dean's Prize for Literary and Cultural Studies. Andre's essay analyzes the recurrence of economic themes in early twentieth-century work by Zora Neale Hurston and Clifford Odets. The Dean's Prize honors the best essays written for 200-level and above courses in the area of literary or cultural criticism as judged by a panel of Department of English faculty.
